Dijon : an extraordinary motorway exhibition at « Le Département » gardens

Alesia MuseoParc, les Hospices de Beaune, Clos-de-Vougeot Castle or Cîteaux Abbey ; all those names are very prestigious and make you dream of travelling and discovering cultural treasures.
These remarkable sites are not the only ones in Côte-d’Or. As a matter of fact, you can find 28 other destinations drawn by five artists on the 80 signs called « marron ». Each sign is 8 meters high ! Their surface is 20 m².
They can be seen on A6, A31, A39, A5 and A38 motorways. They also can be found by visiting this special exhibition from july 27 to august 20, in « Le Département » gardens.

Five famous artists have illustrated cultural and touristic wealth of Côte-d’Or. They are : Olivier Balez, Fred van Deelen, Floc’h, Tino and Zoé.

APRR’s choice to valorize touristic and cultural sites on motorways consists in choosing one designer for each axis. After being drasticly briefed, the creator have free hand to give his interpretation of the theme.
Zoé, french illustrator, was interviewed during exhibition inauguration, ans she said, very enthusiastic : « There are so many places to visit in France. I would like other moyorways group to achieve similar artistic signs, not only APRR ! These marron are remarkable. ».
