Over 150 years of history and collective memory bond the Eiffage Group with the companies that gave rise to its creation and with the general public. Since 1844, the Group has been working on projects that change the lives of men, giving form to often iconic achievements.

      Eiffage named concession operator of the future A79 motorway in Allier, central France

      The 48-year concession involves financing, designing, developing, widening, and upgrading to motorway standards as well as operating and maintaining an 89-km section of the current RN 79 national road between Sazaret (Allier) and Digoin (Saône-et-Loire) which will become the A79 motorway.

      Acquisitions of Lille and Toulouse airports

      The Group’s expertise in major road infrastructure projects enables its to bid for a number of airport concessions in France. Indeed, airports represent a strategic development focus for the Group.

    • 2018

      A consortium involving Eiffage won the contract for work package 1 of line 16, the largest in the Grand Paris Express programme

      Through its Eiffage Génie Civil subsidiary, Eiffage and the consortium to which it belongs won the contract for work package 1 of line 16 of the Grand Paris Express that will connect Saint-Ouen to Aulnay and Le Bourget in Seine-Saint-Denis. The package will link line 16 to line 14 and includes building the first few kilometres of line 17 and the eastern stretch of line 15.

      Commissioning of Bretagne-Pays de la Loire high-speed line

      The inauguration of the Bretagne-Pays de la Loire high-speed rail link on 20 June 2017 was the culmination of five years of work. This outsize project - 214 km of railway line - confirms Eiffage Group’s ability to conduct huge multi-system turnkey projects.

      Delivery of the Posnania shopping center in Poznań (Poland)

      Posnania in Poznań (Poland) is an ultramodern shopping mall, with a total floor area of 320,000 sq.m, a lettable area of 100,000 sq.m, and 3,300 parking spaces.

      Commissioning of the Saint-Nazaire hospital centre (Loire-Atlantique)

      Commissioning in February of Cité Sanitaire de Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique), a 790-bed hospital centre. The first patients were welcomed in July.

      Eiffage acquires the French State’s stake in APRR

      The French State chose Eiffage-Macquarie to take over its holding in APRR (Autoroutes Paris-Rhin-Rhône), France’s second-largest motorway group.

      Creation of Eiffage Construction

      Fougerolle, Quillery and SAE merged to create Eiffage Construction. Norelec joined Forclum.

      Delivery of the extension of the European Parliament (Brussels)

      The extension of the European Parliament in Brussels was completed.

    • 1993

      Creation of the Eiffage Group

      The merger of Fougerolle and SAE gave birth to the Eiffage Group.

      Jakarta Airport (Indonesia)

      The contract to extend Jakarta Airport buttressed SAE’s position as a leading international construction player.

      Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy (Paris)

      On 3 February 1984, the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy (now renamed AccorHotelsArena), a 55,000 m2 multi-purpose venue that can accommodate more than 16,000 spectators, was inaugurated by the Mayor of Paris after four years of work.

      Fougerolle builds the bridge of Tancarville (Seine-Maritime)

      Construction on the Tancarville bridge started in 1955. The bridge long held the record for the longest suspension bridge in Europe (1,360 m). It was commissioned in July 1959.

      Construction of the first section of the A13 motorway (Saint-Cloud)

      A large number of SAE’s 500 workers worked on the construction site of the “Autoroute de l’Ouest”, the prestigious project for the first French motorway, for four years.

      Foundation of Société Chimique de la Route (Lyon)

      Three young chemist-engineers – Michel Trux, Marcel Reynaud and Alexandre Colon – created a company for the production of bitumen emulsion.
