Eiffage Énergie Systèmes takes part in the Cité des Vins et des Climats de Bourgogne project
The city of Beaune has decided to build a cultural centre known as the Cité des Vins et des Climats de Bourgogne (Burgundy Climates and Wine City) in order to enhance and promote the famous Burgundy vineyard climates. With financial support from a cluster of local institutions including the city of Beaune and winegrowers’ associations, it has entrusted the project to a consortium of companies, in which our teams are to play a significant role.
Several of our teams are included in a consortium led by the company Rougeot. After validation of the front-end engineering and design (FEED) studies - and notably, the preliminary and detailed project design phases – our employees are moving into the PRO phase of the project, in order to carry out HVAC, plumbing, Building Automation System (BAS) and electrical works. They are also to handle the future operation and maintenance of the Cité des Vins et des Climats de Bourgogne. The 3,600 m2 building will comprise two separate parts: one open to the general public and including a museum, shop, snack area and bar-restaurant, the other designed for tertiary activities and equipped with offices, meeting rooms and training areas.
The consortium in charge of construction has committed to obtaining the E+ C- label for the Cité des Vins et des Climats de Bourgogne. This new certification for positive energy, carbon-constrained buildings must be part of the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP). The Cité des Vins is aiming for the E3 C1 performance level, one of the most demanding. At the end of the project, our teams in charge of operation and maintenance will guarantee the building’s energy performance according to the IPMVP protocol validated during the PRO phase.
This emblematic site in Burgundy, which is to be inaugurated in January 2022, will be the foundation stone of a neighbourhood undergoing restructuring. A top-of-the-range hotel complex, theatre and “food and wine tourism area” are scheduled for inauguration in Spring 2022.
