Toulouse Metro: Completion of civil engineering works in the Daturas gallery

This underground gallery, over 500 meters long, connects the future Sept Deniers – Stade Toulousain station and the Daturas Workshop-Garage, located on the other side of the A621 motorway. This tunnel will be used by trains to reach their maintenance center for service and parking before re-entering the commercial line.

Unlike the main route, which was excavated using a tunnel boring machine (TBM), this gallery was built using traditional methods. It is one of the longest sections of the project excavated without a TBM.

The ground is mechanically excavated in stages, the vault is secured with steel arches (known as "ribs"), and then the final tunnel lining is applied.

To accommodate the track layout, the tunnel's structure is divided into four technical sections: it starts with a 420-meter single-track section, continues with a 60-meter double-track section, narrows through an 11-meter funnel connection, and concludes with a 43-meter concrete box structure.
