Eiffage Route and Eiffage Rail put an ITE back into service using the ERS-GB5® process
In the Hauts-de-France region, our Eiffage Route teams - together with those from Eiffage Rail and edilon)(sedra - have recommissioned the branch line terminal* at the Matériaux Enrobés Aisne plant in Montescourt-Lizerolles (02).
To mark the occasion, a 40 m-long experimental plank was produced using the ERS-GB5® process.
Innovative and durable, this board combines rail and road expertise to create a solution combining GB5® ultra-high-performance asphalt mix and Corkelast® resin to seal a rail.
The "streetcar" version of the process - TramERS-GB5® - won a prize in the 2021 call for projects issued by the Comité Innovation Routes et Rues. As such, it will be monitored by the French government's technical services (Cerema). Its environmental and implementation qualities during the construction phase, as well as in terms of limiting vibrations during operation, were highlighted.
We are proud of our teams and partners for this outstanding achievement, which underpins our commitment to a more sustainable future.
*A branch line is a railway branch line that connects a factory or logistics platform to the national rail network.
