Doubling of the Saumur Lock Bridge: the work is completed
Following the completion of the deck last November, Eiffage Génie Civil's teams from Nantes focused their efforts on equipment and pavement work on the structure.
The abutments and pier were clad in solid Combe Brune stone. The railings, gratings and gutter cornice were installed by our partners. Finally, in spite of very difficult climatic conditions, the Asparen Bridge type waterproofing was achieved.
Other companies of the Group actively participated in the completion of the works. Eiffage Route produced the asphalt mat (approximately 300 t) and Ævia is currently installing the pavement joints. The worksite welcomed the elected representatives of the region on Tuesday 11 February 2020, an opportunity for Christian Gillet, Chairman of the Maine-et-Loire Departmental Council, to highlight the completion of "a fine project".
The project, carried out in a consortium with Eiffage Métal and launched in October 2018, will be delivered at the end of the month.
