Eiffage Construction is participating in the major renovation of the Royal Hotel, just off the Champs-Élysées in the heart of Paris

The work that began in July 2022 on behalf of the Royal Hotel is in full swing.

The aim of this major renovation project is to improve the standing of this 50-room hotel, by upgrading it from a 4* to a 5* hotel.

The stakes are therefore high. Our teams, who are working on the structural work as well as the enclosure and roofing (macro-lot), have the particular objective of limiting the vibrations caused by the passage of the RER A, which is located below the hotel.

How was this feat achieved? By separating the infrastructure from the superstructure by installing spring boxes in the thickness of the facade walls, thus making this hotel the first Haussmann-style building on spring boxes.

It is also planned to create a second basement level to accommodate a future swimming pool and SPA. To this end, the shafts necessary for the descent of the foundations to a depth of more than 6m in relation to the ground floor will be constructed. The reinforcement of the existing verticals and horizontals will be obtained using BA posts and beams with the installation of stools to ensure temporary stability.

A suite will also be created on the 7th floor, a restaurant on the ground floor, a sports hall on the 1st floor, as well as a service lift between the R-2 and R+6 levels and the replacement of the existing lift by a PRM lift. 

The project is part of the Eiffage Group's ambitious environmental approach, with the aim of achieving BREEAM certification.

The works are due to be completed by the end of September 2023.
