Eiffage Construction installs a tower crane on the 26th floor of the HOPEN Tower in Paris - La Défense
As part of the modernisation work on the ADRIA Tower, renamed the HOPEN Tower, in the Paris-La Défense business district (92), Eiffage Construction has just erected a crane with a jib that reaches 222 metres. The crane was installed on the terrace of the 26th floor of the Tower using a 750-tonne mobile crane equipped with an 84-metre variable jib, which was itself installed using three other mobile cranes. This operation has just been successfully completed for the site started this summer on behalf of various investors represented by Primonial REIM France.
Designed by the architectural firm Ateliers 2/3/4, accompanied by Orfeo Développement as delegated project manager, the project aims to contribute to giving a new dynamic to the largest business district in France. The office building, built in 2002 and classified as a high-rise building, has been redesigned to become a mixed-use tower that is emblematic of the business district.
The work, carried out by Eiffage Construction and Goyer alongside Phibor and Lefort-Francheteau, consists of restructuring and raising the Tower, which stands at 218.00 NGF. Raised by three levels and equipped with a lateral extension over 26 levels in metal structure, its floor area will increase from 61,000 m² to nearly 66,000 m² and will be able to accommodate 7,400 people.
In order to meet the highest international standards, this project, which will make use of the reuse of elements from the clearing of the existing tower, is aiming for several certifications and labels: HQE sustainable building and BREEAM Excellent level, Well Gold, Well HSR and Ready to Osmoz.
The work will last 25 months and will be completed in the third quarter of 2024.
The contract was won by a consortium in May 2022 following a tender launched in 2021 and an exclusive work phase.
Eiffage Construction has been involved in several projects in the Paris-La Défense business district in recent years, both in new construction, with the Tour Majunga, and in renovation, with the Carré Michelet complex, the Window building, the Pascal Towers and the Grande Arche de La Défense.
