EI Mobile Equipment will supply the batching plants of the Turtle / Ahmeyim project in Dakar
Eiffage Génie Civil Marine has entrusted the EI Mobile Equipment division of Eiffage Infraestructuras, the Spanish subsidiary of Eiffage Route, with the batching plants to build the breakwater for the Turtle/Ahmeyim gas terminal located on the maritime borders of Mauritania and Senegal.
A first batching plant was installed in Dakar between 5 and 19 August. With the second assembly in September, it will make it possible to produce some 125,000 m3 of concrete over the next 17 months.
It should be recalled that BP awarded the EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) contract for the maritime infrastructure of this gas terminal in February 2019 to a consortium led by Eiffage after a first phase of preliminary design studies awarded in April 2018.
The teams' programme now includes the creation of docking facilities for the offshore terminal and the breakwater, consisting of 21 concrete caissons of 16,500 tonnes each, designed to protect them.
