New important milestone on GTA
At the Dakar Yard, on the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project currently in development by bp and partners, Eiffage Génie Civil Marine teams achieved a significant project milestone with pouring 21st and last bottom slab of caissons forming breakwater which will shelter marine infrastructures located on the maritime border between Mauritania and Senegal.
This milestone has been successfully achieved thanks to dedication and involvement of all teams mobilised at yard for caissons’ fabrication and offloading. More than 1500 employees of 22 different nationalities, out of which more than 97% are Senegalese, are working 24/7 in order to achieve those extraordinary structures in compliance with stringent international standards in HSE and quality. On a daily basis, they are successfully overcoming technical and logistical challenges, demonstrating Eiffage Génie Civil Marine capabilities to execute complex project by maximizing local content and employment.
On the prefabrication line, all stations are live. Globally and to-date, 15 caissons are fully completed, out of which 13 are installed at final location at Hub, and 19 have their walls finished.
Big thanks and congrats to all teams mobilized on project since start for achievement of the milestone.
