Update on the CDG Express
In Saint-Denis, on the Charles-de-Gaulle Express construction site, zone D, Eiffage Génie Civil installed three mixed concrete/metal decks this summer.
- OA13-14: 60 m, 650-ton side-beam railway bridge (RAPL)
- OA15: 18 m, 250-ton embedded beam deck (TPE)
- OA16: 60 m, 750-ton side-beam railway bridge (RAPL)
The operation took place from July 15 to August 14, 2024, during a temporary traffic interruption (ITC).
1,700 m³ of fill was required to create the sliding paths over the three existing SNCF tracks. The three decks, which had previously been assembled in a prefabrication area, were then transferred to their final location using self-propelled modular transporters, known as Kamags. The temporary stabilization and jacking of the decks were carried out in synergy with Ævia teams. The civil engineering work, which began in September 2022, is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
In total, 9,000 hours of workforce integration will have been completed on this site. Congratulations to all the teams who rose to the challenge during the Paris Games!
