New Eiffage Route project in Toulouse
As part of the Grand Sernin project in Toulouse, Eiffage Route has been awarded the lot Voirie - Réseaux Humides - Mobilier urbain, which concerns the development of the eponymous square.
Due to archaeological constraints, this work began in December 2017. A project with a demountable structure was presented to the DRAC (Direction régionale des Affaires culturelles, which manages archaeological sites) in order to preserve undetected remains. The work being carried out by an archaeologist is expected to be completed by the end of 2019. In the long term, the basilica, the largest Romanesque church in Europe, will benefit from a setting that is worthy of this unique cultural ensemble in the world.
The teams are currently implementing:
- 1,700 m³ of sub-paving concrete
- 3,500 m² of porphyry sawn slabs
- 9,500 m² of paving stones
- 600 ml of limestone benches
- 1 limestone fountain
Works worth €8 million, which will be completed within 22 months.
