LGV Atlantique: Work is in full swing in Vendôme

More than a hundred employees and partners are currently mobilized on the Atlantique high-speed line, in the Vendôme area, on behalf of SNCF Réseau.

This major project involves the renewal of 8 large-scale switches and crossings.

To maintain service to the Vendôme train station, this work is performed at night, between the last and first train of the day.

After the initial resource mobilization in January for the preparation phase, and the removal of the old switches between February and April to make way for the ballast cleaner, the teams are now carrying out the installation and replacement of the new switches.

  • May: Renewal of 4 switches and crossings over the weekends.
  • June: Installation of 4 switches and crossings during the week.

This will be followed by track finishing and stabilization work until the end of August.

This project is part of a contract for SNCF Réseau, carried out in a joint venture with Captrain France, to replace 49 switches and crossings on the LGV Atlantique, LGV Nord, and LGV Sud-Est Européenne high-speed lines. These projects are being conducted simultaneously throughout France to preserve the transport network's availability.
