Eiffage Route on the road with the Tour de France
On 9 July 2017, the Tour de France cyclists will take on the Grande Boucle stage of the race with its 3 mountain passes in the Jura. They are to pass through Saint Paul de Yenne in Savoie on departmental road 42.
On this section, teams from Eiffage Route Centre Est's Voglans branch applied a dual-layer cold-mix asphalt which allows regeneration of watertightness, roughness and road surface grip without preliminary planing. The road was reopened to traffic 15 minutes after application.
The cyclists will also appreciate road surface grip on the second stretch carried out over the five-kilometre descent towards Chambéry, and on the finishing line. It seems likely that Alexandre Pasteur and Laurent Jalabert's commentary and the aerial shots from the helicopter will include some kind of tribute to our teams' efforts!
