Isentalautobahn, the company created especially for this project, is owned in equal parts by Eiffage, Berger Bau GmbH, and Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG (a subsidiary of the Royal BAM group). The Southern Bavarian Autobahn Authority assigned it the design and construction of a new 33 km stretch of dual carriageways between Pastetten and Heldenstein, along with the maintenance and operation of the entire 77-kilometre section for the duration of the contract.
Isentalautobahn made the new motorway operational on Tuesday 1 October 2019, a month ahead of scheduled completion of the works.
These included the construction of:
- 22 km of noise reduction barriers;
- 66 km of protective fencing to safeguard wild animals;
- 57 artworks, including four more than 300 metres long;
- 640,000 m² of low-noise asphalt;
- 1 operations centre at Ampfing;
- 2 rest areas.
The operational phase also involves eco-balancing measures offsetting the project’s impact on biodiversity, perfectly complementing the Eiffage Group’s commitments in this area.
The project represents a total investment of €540 million.
