Watch the video showcasing the renovation of the Lucie-Bréard footbridge, a great example of eco-friendly infrastructure reuse
As part of the urban renewal project for the Franc-Moisin district in Saint-Denis (93), Plaine Commune launched a major initiative to transform the former 255-ton mobile bridge into a modern, fully accessible footbridge, addressing the challenges of sustainable mobility and heritage preservation.
Eiffage Métal carried out the execution studies, manufacturing at the Lauterbourg (67) plant, and assembly of the two metallic access ramps, each over 100 meters long, along with two staircases.
The barge sliding operation and the lifting of the rehabilitated deck were also executed by Eiffage Métal.
This project has enabled:
- Decarbonization of urban infrastructure development through the reuse of existing structures
- Improved accessibility for people with reduced mobility and cyclists, enhancing connectivity in the area
- Preservation and modernization of urban heritage
This landmark project showcases how innovation and eco-responsibility can transform an aging structure into a pillar of urban mobility, reaffirming Eiffage Métal’s commitment to driving the ecological transition.
