Eiffage Énergie Systèmes and the City of Paris inaugurate Europe's biggest energy monitoring system

On Thursday 8 March Eiffage Énergie Systèmes presented its digital energy monitoring system for public buildings - the first in Europe - in the presence of senior Paris City Hall councillors Célia Blauel and Jean Louis Missika, and Executive Director for Heritage and Architecture Marie-Hélène Borie.

As part of its Energy Climate Plan, the City of Paris has committed to reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in its public buildings by 30% compared to the 2004 figure, by 2020.

To meet this challenge, the City has entrusted Eiffage Énergie Systèmes with building the monitoring system, and has invested 14.7 million euros for 4 years' work. Our teams are in charge of upgrading technical facilities (instrumentation, meters, electrical switchboards and controllers) in a number of the thermal centres, and installing a monitoring system for all the buildings which can interface with existing internal management tools.

Our teams are implanting smart sensors in the biggest thermal centres in order to refine the data collected, and are also in charge of developing and installing the software which is to organize the data and make it available.

By means of data collection and processing via a specific “Internet of Things” network together with preventive and curative maintenance, this project will foster a genuine Energy Management approach and create new services and apps for users.
