A joint venture was formed for the purpose, with SFM (Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca) as project manager. Operations were entrusted to Eiffage Energía's subsidiaries Telice and Azvi.
Our teams will thus be in charge of building two 1,500 volt electrical substations, one in Llubí station and the other near Sa Pobla. A system of overhead power lines will be installed along the 12 km stretch, with two 15 kV medium voltage lines to interconnect the faciliites.
This large-scale project will improve user comfort by shortening travel time, reduce noise emissions and limit environmental impact by abandoning the use of contaminating lubricants.
Our teams will have to complete the works within a 12-month timeframe for an overall budget of 9.9 million euros, in order to comply with restrictions imposed by the Balearic Government.
