Eiffage Construction buys part of Charpentes Françaises company, n°1 of the wood structure in France

Eiffage Construction has acquired the 3 production sites of Freneuse (Yvelines), Lessay (Manche) and moult (Calvados) of the Charpentes Françaises company, specializing in the realization of industrial and traditional frames, the POSI beam and the wood frame walls. In 2017, these 3 sites generated a turnover of €12.1 million. All 58 jobs are retained and taken over in full by Eiffage Construction.  
 
This acquisition is part of the strategy of Eiffage Construction, a founding member of the association ADIVbois, to develop its production in the dry sector and to offer its customers an alternative to concrete by moving to constructive modes decarboned in coherence with the future label E+C-.
This new subsidiary, which will bear the name of Savare, will allow Eiffage Construction to offer its real estate businesses new wood products and respond to the environmental challenges of the Greater Paris projects.
 
For many years, Eiffage Construction has been involved in the wood industry and has produced precursor works:

• the student residence Jean-Jouzel in La Rochelle, building storing the most carbon per m2 in France,
• a real estate complex of 140 solid wood dwellings in Ris-Orangis, the first operation to receive the BBCA label,
• a 37 m high residential Sensations project in Strasbourg, built entirely in CLT walls, including the core,
• the Hyperion tower in Bordeaux, a wooden structure with wooden frame wall, 57 m high, which makes it the tower currently the highest in France of this nature.
