Beninese electrical energy company SBEE entrusts RMT with extending networks in Benin
With the benefit of its overhead power transmission network experience and expertise, RMT won the contract for 2 lots of network extension work in the town of Abomey-Calavi and the Atlantique Department.
The SBEE launched a request for tenders to reinforce and extend medium and low voltage networks in Abomey-Calavi and the Atlantique Department financed by French Development Agency AFD, the EU and the European Investment Bank.
RMT won lots 1 and 2, consisting of network extension in several districts of Abomey-Calavi and 37 villages. The works will involve installing 20,000 concrete posts, 800 km of overhead low-voltage twisted cable, 330 km of Almelec (aluminium alloy) cable, 40 medium and low-voltage substations, 85 pole-top transformers, 4,000 street lights and 37,000 subscriber connections.
The project is scheduled for completion in 24 months and involved 250 employees.
