The Cité internationale de la gastronomie et du vin in Dijon, a emblematic project of the Group's expertise, opens its doors to the public
Friday, May 6, 2022 marks the opening to the public of the Cité internationale de la gastronomie et du vin de Dijon, an exceptional cultural and heritage project. This large-scale project, carried out by the various business lines of the Eiffage Group, highlights our expertise as a planner-builder-developer.
The Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie et du Vin will be spread over a 6.5 hectare site, highlighting the "French art of living".
It will offer in particular:
- 1750 m2 dedicated to exhibitions,
- a Ferrandi Paris cooking school,
- a Burgundy wine school,
- a cellar and the restaurants of the Epicure group,
- a 4* luxury hotel under the Curio By Hilton brand, built by Eiffage Immobilier
- a center for the interpretation of the architecture and heritage of Dijon, "Le 1204
- 9 Pathé movie theaters,
- start-ups from the Village by CA.
In addition to its cultural vocation, the second objective of this unique and innovative project was to rehabilitate a city neighborhood. This has now been achieved, as a major urban planning effort has created a new living area, respecting the historical architectural characteristics of Dijon's buildings. From now on, the housing district includes 970 dwellings, including 532 new dwellings and 92 rehabilitated dwellings.
This project is also distinguished by its management of ecosystem preservation. The existing classified wooded area, with a surface area of 3,000 m2, has been preserved and enhanced. In addition, three animal species present on the site, the window swallow, the flying squirrel and the great crested newt, were given special attention throughout the project.
This is a great achievement for the Eiffage Construction teams, who have succeeded in reinventing the heart of the city and developing a new dynamic for the region. Congratulations to our teams, those of Eiffage Énergie Systèmes and Eiffage Route, and to all the trades involved in this project.
