On the A26 motorway, Ævia offers a second life to the Pihem Viaduct (62)
In the Haut de France, on the A26 motorway, which connects Calais and Reims, our teams at Ævia have carried out the rehabilitation of the Pihem Viaduct with the aim of giving a second life to the building!
This VIPP* viaduct, 160 m long, consists of 4 bays spread over 3 piers. The two independent decks have allowed our teams to carry out the work under traffic tilting, in complete safety.
The programme includes changing the restraint system, partial restoration of the sealing and the asphalt, repair of the sills**, jacksetting of the bridge to change the supports, replacement of the pavement joints with 11 m long monobloc joints.
The work took place in two 15-week phases, the first in 2021 and the second in 2022.
*Viaduc with prefabricated prestressed beams.
**Reinforced concrete beam sealed to the existing deck and supporting the restraint devices.
