Authorized Water User Association ASIA in charge of laying pipelines for collective irrigation in the municipalities of Leyment, Lagnieu and Chazey sur Ain has entrusted Eiffage Énergie Systèmes’ teams with installing an electromechanical pumping system.
ASIA supervised the installation of a huge pipeline network, with the aim of ending individual water withdrawals from the Ain’s groundwater table and providing irrigation for agricultural land via a collective pumping system in the Rhône.
As part of the project, our teams set up an electric power transformer substation (2 x 2 500 KV) and installed a low-voltage master distribution board to supply and control the system’s 16 pumps (from 35 to 400 KW in 690 V). Overall pumping capacity will reach 4,000 m3 per hour (with pressure of 20 bars) enabling a total of 1,300 hectares to be irrigated.
Our teams have also fitted a draw-off pipe in the Rhône, and a filtration device. In addition, they have assembled the pumps, valves and fittings and piping, and commissioned system automation and regulation with the help of different analog measurements (flow, pressure and levels), a controller and variable speed drives. The facility ensures supply to the whole volume flow range according to irrigator requirements, throughout the irrigation season. The programming of a supervisory graphic display screen and GSM remote management will enable facility operation to be both locally and remotely monitored.
