The Pollutec exhibition of environmental solutions for industry, cities and regions is to be held from 27 to 30 November in Lyon’s Eurexpo Park. Eiffage Énergie Systèmes and partners will take this opportunity to present their driverless shuttle “MIA”, which is to go into service in the first quarter of 2019.
MIA is a ground-breaking response to transport problems arising in business parks and development areas, enabling users to travel the first and last kilometre of their home-workplace commute. With its 15-person capacity (including 11 seated passengers) this 100% electric autonomous vehicle will be staffed by an attendant for security reasons, able to intervene in emergencies.
MIA was launched with the support of Greater Lyon, Rhône and Lyon equipment and development company SERL and the SYTRAL (Rhône and Lyon urban area joint transport association). The project is led by Eiffage Énergie Systèmes in partnership with transport operator Berthelet Group, which is committed to energy transition and changing mobility patterns.
MIA was presented to the public at the Pollutec exhibition and is to go into service in Gaulnes de Meyzieu-Jonage joint development area to the east of the city, where it will link the T3 tram terminus to Eiffage Énergie Systèmes’ regional headquarters.
This two-year experiment on the road is a first in France! Come and see our presentation at the Eiffage stand, no. 170 in the “Ville Durable” (Sustainable Life) Pavilion.
