French aluminium fittings leader K.Line employs a workforce of over a thousand, including 300 people at headquarters in Les Herbiers (85). The expanding group has chosen to extend its office space and call on EES' expertise via our Clévia brand to carry out HVAC and energy engineering work on the site under construction.
K-Line is finding its 3,000 m2 site in Les Herbiers rather cramped, and has thus chosen to confirm its position in Vendée by extending its premises to gain 4,300 m2 of extra office space. A bigger car park, new offices, a 200-seat auditorium and large restaurant (open to employees at headquarters and in the neighbouring Ouest Alu factory) are to be constructed. Our HVAC and energy engineering experts are taking part in the project, supervising the installation of a 350 kW (when hot) reversible air-to-water heat pump.
The office climate is to be managed via air handling units, infrared heating panels, underfloor heating and radiators. Our teams are also to install a system for instantaneous domestic hot water production, combined with a heat pump providing the energy to preheat the water. In addition, they will commission eight air handling units in these new premises and six specific air extractors (principally in the kitchens adjoining the restaurant).
This project began in November 2017. It is scheduled for completion in March 2019, enabling the staff to settle into their new offices from April onwards.
