As part of the Mède plateform reconversion into a bio-refinery (near Marseilles), Total Group has entrusted Clemessy Services with building work on a new unit.
Total aims to make its refinery a unique site in France, able to manufacture biodiesel from waste oils primarily, with the addition of vegetable oils, thereby asserting the Group's ambition to choose renewable energy sources.
Clemessy Services is taking part in this ambitious project by carrying out revamping and equipment assembly works on the new unit. The company will also take charge of an interconnection project, which involves laying the new zone's interlinking pipes. The works began last July and are scheduled over ten months, mobilizing a workforce of almost 150 from Clemessy Services and partner LTM Bilfinger.
All in all, nearly 300 tonnes of piping will be precast in Clemessy Services' Vitrolles workshops and installed on Total's platform. Clemessy Services' operators are also dismantling over 11 km of piping.
Clemessy Services have already assisted Total, by taking part in the refinery's shutdown works - involving cleaning and dismantling - in 2016.
