Works on the A89-A6 road link to the north of Lyon are currently being completed.
APRR would like to share the completed work and to thank all those who have followed the construction site from far and wide by inviting the public to come and discover - as a preview - the final link in the Bordeaux-Geneva Trans-European motorway, symbolically represented by the construction of the Sémanet viaduct, the completion of which (amongst other things) has been provided by Eiffage (Metalwork and Civil Engineering).
APRR is arranging a public event on Sunday 28 January 2018 from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm to the north of Lyon, to celebrate the completion of this new structure, the Sémanet viaduct, by taking part in “Viaduct Parades”.
For almost 18 months, APRR and their partners have been working hard to complete these works within the given deadlines. It is now time to celebrate.
The opening date for the motorway will be given once it has been decided upon.
This wonderful day of celebration is free of charge and will be the opportunity for the public to discover the story of this viaduct. Exhibitions will show all the stages of the project, whilst a guided tour will enable the public to see “the hidden parts of the viaduct”...
A day for celebration and for symbolism
Throughout the day there will also be numerous events, free of charge, allowing the viaduct to be crossed in various original, spectacular, sporting and festive forms...
The “Viaduct Parades” will symbolically represent the Trans-European motorway, which will soon be linking Bordeaux with Geneva entirely by motorway.
Finally, food trucks will be on the site throughout the day, providing sustenance for participants. A unique opportunity, for the young and old, to have look behind the scenes of this construction site.
Access to the site will only be via shuttle buses, which will be made available nearby. You must register to take part.
