Eiffage Route is working on many research and development (R&D) projects in the fields of energy saving, controlling greenhouse gas emissions, reducing the use of raw materials
non renewable. To reduce the use of fossil fuels, our R&D effort focuses on plant materials as a substitute for bitumen. For example, Recytal-ARM®, a process combining a plant-based binder and cold recycling, rewarded by our internal financing fund, E-Face, reduces the environmental footprint of road maintenance works. A conclusive test on a control section was performed in July 2017 in Aumont (Jura).
Finally, our innovative I-Street project (systemic innovation for the benefit of environmental and energy transitions in road transport infrastructure), the winner of Ademe’s “Road of the Future” tender call, contributes to the development of a greener road industry, which heralds the safe, smart and connected road of the future.
We design the road of the future as a system, no longer just as a product.
