The Internet of things

Towards technomaintenance

When equipment communicates

The emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) is revolutionising Eiffage’s activities. In road infrastructure, for example, sensors integrated in engineering structures will help to better measure the state of wear and better anticipate needs for maintenance and renewal.

In construction, fluids – cold and hot water and heating circuits – will be better controlled. Real-time processing of data – temperature, pressure, frequency – will make it possible to regulate these elements wisely, thus avoiding unnecessary waste or consumption of energy.

The Internet of Things will enable energy saving targets associated with new sustainable development requirements to be achieved more easily by enhancing energy efficiency and lean use.
