Ævia: A crackdown under the runways of Paris-CDG airport

At the rate of 6 hours per intervention, it only took 9 nights to the Ævia teams to ensure the first phase of the gantries reinforced concrete louvres removal used covering the highway A1 and the main sewer and the Arpenteur's route towards Lille-Paris, under Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle airport’s runways.

Ævia: A crackdown under the runways of Paris-CDG airport

Sawing, handling, lifting and evacuation… Our experts filed beams ranging from 28 to 34 m long as poles of 6 to 7 meters high; around 45 tons of concrete prestressed deconstructed and removed in just 6 hours, with assembling and dismantling 3 shoring towers performed the first night over the A1.

The cadence was maintained for 8 nights to deposit all 34 beams from 28 m to 34 m in length as well as 70 beams of 7 m, or about 85 tons of concrete prestressed by night, under the Arpenteur road closure, the A1 highway main sewer, closed for the occasion.

Congratulations to the 30 staff members involved in this spectacular site led to ADP to whom many safeguards have been put in place.

We’ll meet in September for the next step!
