APRR : The “Extraordin’aire” break on the winter holidays route
Every Saturday from 8 February to 7 March 2020, the APRR Group stands ready to welcome holiday-makers heading to the winter sports resorts. Travellers can enjoy many free activities and services for young and old alike at seven “Extraordin’aires” activity villages.
Safety, a priority
Driver safety is at the heart of APRR & AREA’s concerns. When driving, drivers are advised to take a break every two hours. The activities on offer are a great way to persuade families to make a stop. At our seven rest areas, everything is in place to attract young and old alike: a stand at which you can send a free postcard, wooden toys, face painting, reading area, etc. At the Jura (A39 north of Lons-le-Saunier) and L’Isle-d’Abeau (A43 south-east of Lyon) rest areas, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPA) will take a photo of you with your pet against a mountain backdrop!
To raise driver awareness on road safety, every Saturday at the Chien-Blanc rest area (A6 west of Dijon), drivers can check their vehicles’ lights and tyre pressures and oil levels free of charge. You can also test your driving on a Côte-d’Or Gendarmerie Unit simulator. Last but not least, drivers can learn how to fit their vehicle with snow chains. The Centaure auto-reflex centre will be at the L’Isle-d’Abeau rest area on the Saturdays of 8 and 29 February with a driving simulator. Workshops will also be held at the Jura rest area every Saturday, with a two-wheel driving simulator.
Full speed ahead with APRR & AREA
Celebrating sports at our rest areas! On 15 February at the Chaponne rest area (A6 south of Auxerre), Valentin Belaud, two-time world modern pentathlon champion and qualified for the upcoming Tokyo Olympic Games, will be there to give an introduction to fencing and shooting and hold a signing session! Every Saturday at the L’Isle-d’Abeau rest area, winter sports lovers can find a biathlon simulator and have their skis waxed free of charge, a service also available at the Granier (A43 south of Chambéry) and Chaponne rest areas. Train on a real-life ski simulator at the Jura rest area before taking to the slopes.
BambooMag, a child’s best friend
Cartoons, games… what could be better for kids than a free special edition of BambooMag at all “Extraordin’aires” activity villages.
Readers will find a competition slip in this edition to cut out and complete to be in with a chance to win two entries to Europa-Park, voted world's best theme park!
