100 days to go to the Tokyo Olympic Games for pentathlete Valentin Belaud, supported by APRR
There are 100 days to go to the Olympics for double world champion modern pentathlete Valentin Belaud. The APRR Group is supporting its colleague during this physical and mental preparation period and cheering him on to gold at Tokyo.
Symbolically, Wednesday 28 April 2021 marks 100 days before the start of the modern pentathlon events at the Tokyo Olympic Games. The competition will in fact run from the 5th to 7th of August 2021. Three days during which Eiffage and APRR Group employees in particular will closely be following the five disciplines comprising this sport, and in which their colleague Valentin Belaud, the current modern pentathlon world champion, will be participating.
It all kicks off on 5 August with the fencing tournament. Next will be swimming and equestrian show jumping, which will determine the first points classification. These points will then be converted into time penalties for the very last event: the combined shooting/cross-country running event.
This year, 36 male and female athletes will be seeking the holy grail: the gold medal. Valentin Belaud, after missing out on the top spot in the 1st event of the World Cup at Budapest last March, will be doing his utmost to show that his training and mental preparation strategy has been the right one to ensure he returns to live competition more fighting fit than ever. Before the Tokyo Games, he’ll be taking part in two international competitions: The World Cup “final”, from 13 to 16 May in South Korea, and above all the senior World Championships, from 7 to 13 June in Egypt, where he’ll be defending his title. 100 gripping days to go to the Olympic dream!
