First two sections for Eiffage
Autoroute de l’Avenir (the Motorway of the Future) is the first PPP (public-private partnership) in sub-Saharan Africa, the first link in the Dakar-Diamniadio motorway, and the first toll motorway in West Africa. Through this partnership, the State of Senegal entrusted Eiffage with the financing, design, construction, operation and maintenance of a first stretch from Dakar to Diamniadio. Handed over in August 2013, in just 29 months, this 25.5 km stretch significantly reduces travel time from two hours to 30 minutes.
