The Montpellier Polygon takes shape with Eiffage Métal
Eiffage Métal, through its Envelopes & Facades division, is involved in the renovation of the Montpellier shopping centre.
Built in 1977 in the heart of the city, the Polygone is currently undergoing a makeover. The equipment build the new glass roof and glass facades of the building on an occupied site.
An innovative construction method has been tested with the assembly of blocks away from the steel structure. Blocks that are then thrown at night over the shopping centre.
The first block, weighing 45 tonnes, was successfully launched last week. 4 other similar operations will take place by the end of the work scheduled for February 2020.
