Start of digging for Aïcha on line 15

After its name was revealed on December 19, the "Aïcha" tunnel boring machine was baptized, following the tradition of underground work, by Father Jean-Pierre Gay, priest of the Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Cœur Paris in Champigny, on Monday January 6 in the presence of the group's teams and its godmother, Aïcha Mokdahi, president of the Essilor Vision Foundation and the Atlas (Algerians Talents Leaders Association).

The tunnel boring machine began scraping the moulded wall of the future Bry-Villiers-Champigny station the next day, before setting off on its 3.1 km journey to the Champigny tunnel, where it will end its journey. After Camille in Créteil, Aïcha is the second and last tunneling machine put into service on Lot T2B of Line 15 South of the Grand Paris Express by teams from the Eiffage Génie Civil and Razel-Bec consortium.

This start-up marks the beginning of a year 2020 which promises to be intense with, in addition to the digging of tunnels, the increase in the rate of civil engineering works on the three stations and the eight ancillary structures.
