Road safety: the Tarn is testing Guid'N Grip
Eiffage Route and Eiffage Energie Systèmes delivered their very first Guid & Grip® project on the RD 612 in Saint-Germier in the Tarn, commissioned by the Departmental Council.
The "Alert - Guide - Secure" concept is provided by a Sécuriprène® asphalt mix combined with LED blocks marking the curve of the accident curve, the activation of which is managed by a radar detecting vehicles on approach. The president of the Departmental Council, Christophe Ramond, inaugurated the site on December 4 in the presence of several local elected officials. During the work period, the teams worked at night with two pavers to apply the wearing course and lay the 35 LED studs on the track and islets.
This work, which significantly improves the visibility of the curve of the curve for drivers, secures this section, which will be the subject of a three-year experimental follow-up period by Cerema to evaluate the advantages of this road innovation.
