This contract, worth more than €2.40 million, includes studies and methods to verify all the metal structures of the eastern tympanum, as well as some reinforcement operations necessary to keep the riveted structure in good condition.
Eiffage Métal, which will work while the museum remains open to visitors, has set up a special organisation. In particular, it has surrounded itself with recognized companies in the fields of access, stripping of lead-containing paints and painting of old structures. The construction site has just started for 10 months.
These services are part of a first phase of work, knowing that basic and systematic repairs, with replacement of certain structural parts, will be carried out over the next 10 years.
