Eiffage, through Eiffage Concessions, has acquired nine micro-hydroelectric power stations in south-west France from a private owner. Six are on the Agout river in the Tarn department; one lies on the Adour river in Gers, with another on the Vienne in Charente, and finally, one on the Vézère in Dordogne.
Following this acquisition, Eiffage Concessions will renovate the power stations to be standards-compliant and improve their output to increase active power purchased to six megawatts. The project also includes construction of a new power station in Dordogne, in addition to the operation and maintenance of these 10 stations.
Eiffage Énergie Systèmes (lead company) will carry out the works contract as co-contractor with Eiffage Génie Civil, and will ensure operations and maintenance. The main works will last three years, for a sum approaching €25 million.
This project enables Eiffage to strengthen its position in the renewable energies sector and fits perfectly into its strategy of diversifying its concessions portfolio in territories where it is firmly established.
