Doubling of the Écluse bridge in Saumur: the deck ends
Work is progressing rapidly on the doubling of the Écluse bridge in Saumur. Over the past two months, Eiffage Génie Civil teams have built the 152 m long deck made up of 61 prefabricated slabs of all thicknesses, including edge beams.
The installation of the slabs, weighing some 26 tonnes, was carried out day and night in 5 successive phases. It required the use of several mobile cranes, offered by the company's Methods department. After the reinforcement of the keying areas, the concreting was carried out in 3 phases, using a pump equipped with a 47 m boom.
The civil engineering works are due to be completed at the end of November to make way for equipment works: safety barriers, cornices, gutters, waterproofing, pavement joints, asphalt...
The delivery of this work, carried out in a consortium with Eiffage Métal and started in October 2018, will take place in February 2020.
