From 27 to 29 May 2019, Eiffage Métal's teams carried out the "first launch" of the steel structure.
This section, assembled as a support on an abutment and temporary pier, docked on the pier built by Eiffage Génie Civil teams after 35 m of travel. The variable inertia of the structure does not make life any easier for Eiffage Métal teams, who have to play with the cylinder in order to adapt the stacking of comrades to progress. This 152 m long structure will be launched in three phases. Currently, the welders are working to put new structural sections in line for a second launch scheduled around July 9.
It should be recalled that the doubling of the Écluse bridge is part of the 2 x 2-lane construction of the Pocé - Pont du Cadre Noir section in Saumur.
The mixed structure is being built in a consortium by Eiffage Métal, Eiffage Génie Civil and Eiffage Route.
