Eiffage Foundation: integrating people alienated from the workplace through a local services initiative in the Maubeuge area

The Eiffage Foundation is supporting the launch of an intermediary association in a disadvantaged area near Maubeuge (Nord). The organisation works to promote the integration of people alienated from the workplace, by employing them to provide local services for individuals, companies or local authorities.

The Groupement d'Economie Solidaire Sambre-Avesnois groups together professional integration organisations and social enterprises in the Avesnois, a disadvantaged area near Maubeuge (Nord).
The group is launching an intermediary association employing people on access to employment schemes to provide local services (DIY, gardening, mailing, etc.) for individuals, companies and local authorities.

The objective is to employ 10 salaried staff to provide 3,600 hours of services for 120 local areas in 2017. The staff also benefit from support to help with their social and professional integration.

The Eiffage Foundation is supporting the launch of this initiative by funding the acquisition of a vehicle for the intermediary association.

Marcelino Gomes, works and services site manager at Eiffage Construction in Valenciennes, is involved in the project at a local level.
