A466 motorway, the penultimate link in the Bordeaux-Geneva Trans-European network
A brand new section of the A466 motorway was commissioned on 3 July 2015: it provides a connection to the north of Lyon (Rhône) between the A6 motorway that links south-east Paris to Lyon (Rhône) and the A46 motorway that links Anse (Rhône) to Neyron (Ain). The APRR group invested €80 million to build this 4 km section, which took 2 years to complete.
From a national perspective, the A466 is the penultimate link in the Bordeaux-Geneva Trans-European network. At the regional level, it provides rapid access to the west of Lyon (A6) for users coming from the east of the city (A46) – and vice versa.
