Eiffage wins contract for the restructuring of the Paris ring road interchange at Quai d'Ivry
Eiffage, represented by Public Works division, has been entrusted by Semapa with work to restructure the Quai d’Ivry interchange on the Paris ring road at the Paris left bank development area in the city’s 13th arrondissement under a contract worth nearly €48 million.
This operation will involve every area of expertise offered by the Public Works division, including civil engineering, steel construction and road building.
This 40-month project will involve the moving of 200,000 cubic metres of soil, the building of seven reinforced concrete civil engineering structures (including four prestressed and one concrete-steel composite structures), and the laying of 19,500 sq. m of road surfaced with Microphone® phonic coated aggregate – an exclusive product developed by the Public Works division’s laboratories to significantly reduce the noise caused by tyre/road contact.
This new collaboration between the Public Works division and Semapa follows on from a great many previous contracts, including projects to cover railway lines and car parks, and construct new tracks for the Paris left bank development area (ZAC Paris Rive Gauche). It also follows work carried out on a section of the Paris ring road in summer 2013, with the laying of Microphone® phonic coated aggregate surfacing.
