Baptism of fire for the Grand Carré de Jaude
Build a complex on a volcanic site : that was the challenge taken up by Eiffage Construction with the Grand Carré de Jaude project located at the heart of Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme), with the help of teams from Eiffage Énergie and Eiffage Travaux Publics.
It took nine months to build the special foundations that required 58,000 m3 of concrete and 7,500 tons of reinforcement in order to support the structure designed by architect firm DHA.
The Grand Carré de Jaude, which opened its doors on the 13th of November and has been inaugurated on the 18th of November, offers 54 boutiques, 184 residential units, a 4-star hotel, a holiday resort, 2,750 m2 of office space, a 400-space car park and a multiplex cinema.
The facades harmoniously combine volcanic stone and silk-screened glass. The project generated 160 million euros in revenue for the real estate, including 110 million euros for the construction works.
