Current Projects
The Grand Stade Lille Métropole (GSLM) stadium, which is being built under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement on the “Borne de l'Espoir” site, straddling the boundary between Villeneuve-d'Ascq and Lezennes, is set to be the first of its kind. The facility, which will have capacity in excess of 50,000, will notably incorporate a sliding roof that can be closed in just 30 minutes. The other remarkable feature will be a built-in arena, with the northern half of the pitch designed to lift up and slide over the southern half to reveal a "Showcase" venue for concerts and indoor sporting competitions, complete with terraced seating located below pitch level, providing a total capacity of 29,500 seats. This "nested" design, which will be the only one of its kind in Europe, represents an exceptional architectural achievement.
