Flagship projects
Of the many projects supported by the Eiffage Foundation in 2009, three, in particular, attracted considerable media attention.
 | Following restoration work by Eiffage, the refurbished Buren columns in the courtyard of the Palais Royal in Paris were inaugurated by Culture Minister Frédéric Mitterrand on 8 January 2010. Both young people who worked on this project under integration programmes have taken up permanent employment within the Group. |  |
| During celebrations to mark the 120th anniversary of the Eiffel Tower, the Eiffage Foundation gave more than 2,500 children from disadvantaged neighbourhoods an opportunity of visiting the monument and seeing a cultural exhibition. The Foundation also provided support in organising a construction & public-works information day, which was held on 29 April 2009, and attended by more than 150 young people. Four Eiffage divisions participated in the event, as did the CREPI Ile-de-France regional club for vocational integration. |  |
| | Renovation work on the facade of the Zambelli rotunda in the west wing of the Palais Garnier opera building is being conducted by Eiffage Construction Paris Patrimoine under a patronage agreement between the Eiffage Foundation, the Culture Ministry and Opéra national de Paris. During the works, the rotunda will be covered with 800 sq. m of protective sheeting featuring images of the Buren columns, the Louvre pyramid, the Palais Garnier itself and the Simone de Beauvoir footbridge – all projects which the Group has supported, or in which it is participating as a patron. The sheeting, which will remain in place throughout the works, also features a trompe-l'œil image of the façade of the rotunda. |  |
